"You have only ever seen me amongst the Order, or under Dumbledore’s protection at Hogwarts! You don’t know how most of the wizarding world sees creatures like me! When they know of my affliction, they can barely talk to me! Don’t you see what I’ve done? Even her own family is disgusted by our marriage, what parents want their only daughter to marry a werewolf? And the child—the child—”
#THIS SCENE MEANT SO MUCH TO ME READING THE BOOK!#Like I remember where I was when I read it#And I remember feeling sort of like Harry did#I always looked up to Lupin in the books#he was wise you know?#He was a role model#someone to look up to#and then you read that part and it’s a realization#it’s a realization that adults — all of them even the seemingly wisest — have faults#they are imperfect#they are just people#Remus Lupin was just a person#with insecurities and fears and moments of true stupidity#this scene was so important and not just for plot but for meaning\#Harry’s grown up#And after this scene I felt like I’d grown up some too
i can’t tell you how many times i’ve spoken up about harassment only to be told to “learn to take a compliment”.
since when do “compliments” intrude on my space? what kind of “compliment” makes a person feel unsafe or threatened?
harassment isn’t a compliment. know the difference.
you deserve to be in a relationship with a person who doesnt make you compete for their affection and never has you guessing where you stand with them
Isn’t it weird how people change and grow apart and stop talking and then one day you see this person who you swore you were going to be friends with forever and you can barely think of a thing to say and then it finally hits you that somewhere along the way your friendship dimmed and you will probably never be close to that person again. I think that’s one of the saddest things I’ve come to terms with lately.
"gays will push their sexuality onto their children"
funny because that’s exactly what every straight person does.
